INFORMATION :
A chair design that could act as an artefact and functional art, that talks about the ideology of utopia and unity within the society.
The design formation originates from a single point and divides itself into segments, indicating that these segments maybe divided and on its own but the true nature of the form is that each segment constitutes into forming a whole system, and is originated from the same origin. This abstraction of form talks about the division of humanity as a dystopian concept but at same time reflects the idea of utopia as it is still a singular and unified entity that constitutes to create a piece of seating design.
The sculptural quality of the form gives an opportunity to present the piece as an artefact, a collectibles design, this could be a sculpture or a small scaled structure portraying the ideology behind the design and the utopian approach towards solving a contemporary issue with a united history.
Creating a digital artefact was a challenge in itself, proportion, composition, ergonomics, measurements and aesthetic is kept in mind while sculpting the pieces in Z brush. The product is visualised in Blender and Cinema 4D with the appropriate environment and setting.
